“As for us and these home, we will serve the Lord: as for us and these homes we will praise His name, for unless He builds these homes, we have worked in vain; as for us and these homes we serve the Lord.” The dedication of Habitat for Humanity – Clinton County home number 51 was attended by over 20 volunteers, Board members, family and friends on Sunday April 19th at 2 pm at the home of CaRetta Robinson and her sons; Demetrius, Raevon, Malik and Mekhi. As the Board of Trustees read their dedication of the home, including the above short verse, Habitat’s Christian mission was verbalized to all in the room.
A beautiful blessing of the home led by Jim Krusling walked through the rooms with CaRetta, acknowledging the importance of the space and a brief prayer said. Emotions were apparent as the sons and CaRetta voiced what having a safe affordable new home meant to each of them. A feeling of love and happiness was evident by the décor the family used in their new home
.
The Board took time to share what Habitat’s mission meant to them and to the family; and generous words were given by the Construction crew about how hard CaRetta and her sons worked and continue to give back as construction begins building home number 52, located on Grove Street in Wilmington.
A delicious cake and snacks were enjoyed by all before embarking onto other Sunday events on that bright sunny and warm day.
