It is with great sadness that our Habitat affiliate must share the loss of another of our dedicated volunteers and supporters. Linda K Neff, age 84, wife of our founder Richard (Dick) Neff, passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease on January 10, 2026.
Linda, known for her beautiful smile, may not have been found on the job site swinging a hammer, rather sharing delicious lunches for the workers. Linda could never say no, when Habitat needed help with their many fundraisers, such as making pork sandwiches, donating her artwork for their sales.
She worked with Jane Garber on the Family Selection Committee, an integral step in the Habitat process, educating potential homeowners and assisting with accurate completion of their applications. At home dedications, she welcomed the guests and helped serve the delicious desserts. She was always a big support to the Board of Trustees as well as other important committees, preferring to be behind the scenes to support the organization.
In addition to her dedication to Clinton County’s underprivileged, she was a proud mother to Scott, Becca, Cindy and Holly and grandmother to Camryn, Conner, Gracie, Chloe, Mia. She was known and proud of her artistic talents, especially painting which at times may have included embellishments from Sanibel and Captiva Islands where her sisters resided. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
