On a rainy Thursday May 1st, a tractor trailer from Contrans Flatbed, doing business as, South Shore Trucking, donated transportation services to deliver a flatbed load of building materials from Lowe’s Distribution Center in Washington Courthouse to the Habitat for Humanity – Clinton County Restore in Wilmington. In previous years South Shore Transportation Co has used their tractors to deliver building products to the ReStore business located at 1032 West Main Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Tom Clark, terminal manager, stated they are a close-knit group of people who try to help the community as much as possible. They recognize the work that Habitat does in Clinton County.
The ReStore sells recycled products such as cabinets, building items, home goods and appliances to raise money to build homes for low-income families in Clinton County. These families then enjoy the satisfaction of repaying their interest free loans and becoming homeowners and taxpayers. Habitat has worked with Lowe’s Distribution Center in the past to accept products that may be slightly damaged, returned or incorrectly ordered. Cecilia noted that the profits from the sales at the ReStore goes to purchase building supplies for homes that are being built or may be constructed next year. She encourages anyone who knows a Contrans employee to tell them thank you for helping our Habitat Mission in Clinton County.
